Международный клуб, который объединяет руководителей Великобритании, Германии, Италии, Канады, России, США, Франции и Японии, представляющих около 14 % процентов населения и чуть меньше половины суммарного ВВП стран мира. Кроме того, в работе клуба принимают участие представители ЕС, а также Индии и Китая. Распространенное название — «Большая восьмёрка». Она носит полуформальный характер, не основана на международном договоре, не имеет устава и секретариата. Решения «восьмёрки» не имеют обязательной силы, однако к ним прислушиваются во всем мире. Как правило, речь идёт о фиксации намерения сторон придерживаться согласованной линии или о рекомендациях другим участникам международной жизни применять определённые подходы в решении тех или иных вопросов. Саммиты лидеров государств восьмерки проходят ежегодно, по очереди в каждом из государств-членов. Их готовят шерпы – доверенные лица членов клуба. Группа двадцати ( Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, G20) - формат международных совещаний министров финансов и глав центральных банков, представляющих 19 стран плюс Европейский союз. Эти страны: Австрия, Аргентина, Бразилия, Великобритания, Германия, Индия, Индонезия, Италия Канада, КНР, Мексика, Россия, Саудовская Аравия, США, Турция, Франция, ЮАР, Корея, Япония. Кроме того, в работе группы принимают участие представители Международного Валютного Фонда и Всемирного Банка. В совокупности, G20 представляет 90 % мирового валового национального продукта, 80 % мировой торговли (включая торговлю внутри ЕС) и две трети населения мира. В работе группы особое внимание уделяется преодолению современных экономических кризисов и их последствий, развитию мировой финансовой системы.
